how the parts of the speech help students to write more academically
It is important to know how to use the parts of the
speech properly in order to write either simple or complex text. When writing
some ideas on paper it is surely forgotten the uses and the rules of every part
of the speech as it is a truth that for the writer knowing them is unnecessary,
he or she just want to express their ideas unconsciously without knowing when
or how to use, the nouns, the pronouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions,
conjunction or interjections. In many cases, the writer does not even figure out
that these parts of the speech help him or her to write better in English or
makes possible a better interaction between him and the reader because the more
accurate and well written is the text the better the reader will understand
what the writer wants to express. According to Leman. C there are primary words
which are Verbs, secondary classes which are adjectives and verbs and the minor
word classes which are pronouns
By the time the writer is presented that each part of
the speech has an important use in English he or she could figure out that he
has to learn a lot more about them. For example, it is surprising to know that
there are various types of nouns which have different uses at the time of
writing, these Nouns were the common nouns, the abstract the proper and the
collective nouns. These nouns have certain ways of use and rules to follow that
may seem simple but they are not.
Another part of
the speech are pronouns and when to use it, as the pronouns represented
something really tiny that it is often considered simple, some writers thought
it was unnecessary to know something that they already know but as everything
in life, they did not expect to know that this ´´Tiny´´ pronouns were that
necessary and useful. Nouns are the ones that help writers to make their ideas
understandable and less repetitive.
And the verbs, which have a surprisingly hidden
function, which is being the most important part of a sentence, and makes
writers understand that in English there are only two tenses which are past and
present. The verbs are the ones who guide the sentences the writer is writing
and what gives the opportunity to the reader to understand what is really
happening or what is the writer trying to say. To conclude according to Leman. The part-of-speech system that is represented in every language it is not universal
and behaves just like another semiotic nature. That is to say, the users are there
it is the writer's necessity to pay attention to the parts of the speech due to
the great importance at the time of writing and knowledge to make writers more understandable, accurate and more
academic.
